Code of Conduct
Personal Accountability and Code of Conduct:
Explicit negotiation and informed consent are of the utmost importance. Our educators continually work to understand changing expectations on these issues and set the best example they can. They regularly attend classes and discussions about consent and negotiation and welcome any feedback or questions about their practices.
Our educators practice negotiation, discuss risks, and obtain consent verbally or in writing. They will answer any questions and freely share information to help a potential play partner make informed choices. They will not rush, coerce, or pressure anyone into saying yes.
Our educators have adopted the KECC code of conduct . They appreciate the time and effort the KECC Collective  put into defining this code of conduct.
Our educators hold themselves accountable for their actions. They have designated accountability contacts as an additional tool for the community if needed. These individuals have agreed to the following:
Accept any statements regarding our educators' behavior without judgment or blame.
Identify what the individual giving the statement feels is an acceptable resolution.
Discuss any incidents with our educators and their other accountability contacts as required.
Recommend actions that serve the needs of the individuals involved and the safety of our community.
Maintain the anonymity of the parties involved if they request to remain anonymous.
Remain neutral.
We welcome constructive feedback on this topic and strive to create a safe and consensual environment for our classes, workshops, intensives, performances, demos, and video tutorials.
